Ok, the headline may be a little insensitive but as nobody got hurt I figured it wasn’t in totally bad taste.
That meteorite that hit Grovers Mill is about 20 minutes from where I work. I didn’t see the fireball that everyone is talking about but we all heard the impact (someone here said that it probably wasn’t the impact but the sound of the meteor entering the atmosphere or breaking the sound barrier or something). Obviously it’s raised a huge ruckus and first responders are rushing to the area. Helicopters (media, police, everyone) are almost continuously buzzing to or from the area.
I’m hearing that one of the big problems the police and fire people are having is trying to work their way through people rushing the the scene. Apparently, everyone wants to be first getting this footage on YouTube.
What a bunch of maroons.
Does this mean DHS is going to come up with another color coded warning system?
